The highly prized, seldom seen, $10 Indian Head gold pieces were first struck by the U.S. Mint in 1907. Their magnificent designs were created by one of America’s foremost sculptors of the time, Augustus Saint-Gaudens.

A Totally Original Design – The $10 Indian design combines a traditional portrait of Miss Liberty, except she’s crowned in a distinctive Indian war bonnet. The reverse design is a majestic standing Eagle.

Low Original Mintages – When compared to the larger $20 gold pieces, the total mintages for $10 Indians were extremely small. The $20 denominations were released for over 100 years, but $10 Indians were minted for just 14 years. There were less to begin with and they're even rarer and harder to find today.

Millions Destroyed in Great Meltdowns – Making things worse for collectors, in 1933 during the Great Depression all gold coins were recalled to the U.S. Treasury Department. It was during this time that the overwhelming majority of all $10 Indian gold coins were forever destroyed during the Gold Meltdowns.

Today, the limited number of surviving $10 Indians in “Mint Condition” makes them highly prized collectibles and treasured American keepsakes. While they have an underlying gold value – nearly a half-ounce of gold – their true value is based on their state of preservation and a growing demand for Pre-1933 gold coins in the U.S. Rare Coin Market.

All $10 Indians we're offering are certified authentic, guaranteed, and graded by PCGS or NGC. Supplies are limited so order today.
